Responsible entity
Sekkara (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a company registered in the commercial registry under the laws in force in the Syrian Arab Republic. Sekkara operates and manages the Sekkara platform and the Sekkara POS merchant app, owns all rights relating to them, and is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Sekkara and govern your access to and use of the Sekkara loyalty platform, including the Sekkara consumer app, the Sekkara POS merchant app, and the website at https://sekkara.io (together, the “Services”). By downloading or installing the app, creating an account, publishing an offer, or activating or scanning a coupon, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
The Sekkara consumer app is free. Consumers do not pay any subscription or fee to download the app, create an account, browse offers, activate coupons, or earn and redeem loyalty points. Merchants pay a separate participation fee — see Subscription, fees & renewal.
These Terms supplement, and do not replace, any separate merchant agreement signed between Sekkara and a Merchant. If the two conflict, the signed merchant agreement governs on the points it expressly addresses.
Cookies and similar technologies used on the website are described in our Cookie Notice.

Eligibility
- Merchants: a business lawfully established and licensed in the Syrian Arab Republic may register, if it is represented by a person who is at least eighteen (18) years old, has full legal capacity, and is authorized to contract on its behalf. Applications are subject to our review and approval. Merchants must also agree to any separate merchant agreement we provide.
- Consumers: you must reside in the Syrian Arab Republic and be at least sixteen (16) years old to create and use a consumer account. You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information.
Accounts & OTP security
Accounts are verified with a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to the registered phone number. That number is our official channel of communication with the account holder.
For Consumers
Your account is identified by your verified mobile phone number, and each phone number may be linked to only one account. If you have more than one phone number, you may create a separate account for each one. Your account, coupons, and points are personal and may not be transferred, shared, sold, or assigned. You are responsible for your phone, your device, your login details, and all activity on your account. Never share your OTP — we will never ask you for it by phone call or message. Notify us at support@sekkara.io if you suspect unauthorized use.
For Merchants
A Merchant may add Authorized Users from its staff and is responsible for their activity and for revoking access when their role ends. A Merchant Account may not be transferred, sold, or assigned without our prior written consent. Never share an OTP. Notify us at support@sekkara.io if you suspect unauthorized use.
Loyalty Points
- Points are not legal tender, are not redeemable for cash, and are not a debt owed by Sekkara. They may not be sold, exchanged for money, or inherited.
- Points are non-transferable between accounts except where we expressly permit it.
- Unused Points expire 90 days after they are earned. If you delete your account, your Points stay with it during the 30-day recovery window and are lost only if you do not restore the account in time.
- Points have no value outside the Services. A completed redemption cannot be reversed. We may correct balances and cancel Points issued in error, for a cancelled transaction, for fraud, for a breach of these Terms, or to comply with the law.
- Earn rates, expiry, and redemption options may vary by Merchant and offer. Settlement between Sekkara and a Merchant is handled under the merchant agreement.
Vouchers / Coupons
A Coupon is personal, single-use, and has an expiry date. It has no cash value. The offer’s own conditions are shown before you activate it; activating it means you accept those conditions. Once a Coupon is redeemed or expires, it cannot be reused, extended, or refunded. Do not share, sell, or transfer a Coupon. A Merchant may refuse a Coupon that is expired, already used, or does not match the published offer. If a Merchant refuses a valid offer without a legitimate reason, we are not liable to you for that refusal, but we may follow up and take action against the Merchant.
Roles of consumers vs. merchants
Sekkara provides the platform that connects Consumers and Merchants. We are not the seller of a Merchant’s goods or services, we are not a party to that sale, and we do not receive payment for a Consumer’s purchases. Each Merchant is an independent business, solely responsible for what it sells and for the rewards it promises.
Offers published by merchants
Offers a Merchant publishes must be accurate and not misleading. We may review an offer and require it to be amended, rejected, or taken down. A Merchant must honour a published offer as shown in the app, and must honour Coupons already activated until they expire. A Merchant may not charge more than the discounted price or add conditions that were not stated in the offer.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Impersonate anyone, use a phone number that is not yours, or access another person’s account;
- Share your OTP or login details;
- Share, sell, reuse, or tamper with Coupons, or try to earn Points you are not entitled to;
- Provide false or misleading information, or publish misleading offers;
- Buy or sell Points or Coupons, or redeem them for cash;
- Use Consumer data you see in the app for your own marketing, or share it outside the app;
- Harass other users, staff, or support;
- Interfere with the Services, attempt unauthorized access, reverse-engineer or scrape them, or use them for any unlawful purpose.
Subscription, fees & renewal (Merchants only)
This section applies to Merchants. The consumer app is free. Merchant fees are set out on https://sekkara.io/en/business and in the merchant agreement. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled as described there. We may suspend a late-paying Merchant, who remains obligated to honour Coupons already activated. We do not process a Consumer’s payment to a Merchant. Merchants are responsible for taxes on their own sales.
Cancellations & refunds (Merchants)
A Merchant may end its participation as described in the merchant agreement or in the app, and remains obligated to honour Coupons already activated. Fees paid for the current period are not refunded if the Merchant ends its own participation, or if we end it for breach, unless the merchant agreement says otherwise. If we end participation for reasons unrelated to a Merchant’s breach, we refund the unused portion of prepaid fees. Refunds for a Consumer’s purchase follow that Merchant’s own policy.
Cancellations & refunds (Consumers)
Because the consumer app is free, there is no subscription fee to cancel or refund. Activated, consumed, or expired Coupons are not refunded. Points have no cash value. Refunds for what you paid a Merchant follow that Merchant’s own policy. You may delete your account at any time. For 30 days after deletion, you can restore it in the Sekkara app, and everything in it comes back. After 30 days the deletion is final and unused Points and activated Coupons are forfeited. See Delete your account & data.
Violations & enforcement
If you breach these Terms, or we suspect fraud or misuse, or the law requires it, we may warn you, void Points or Coupons obtained in breach, suspend or close the account, remove a Merchant’s offers, and report the matter to the competent Syrian authorities. We may also require you to indemnify Sekkara and, where relevant, the other party for losses arising from the breach. On termination, your right to use the Services ends. Intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive.
Minors
The person responsible for a Merchant Account, and any Authorized User, must be at least eighteen (18) years old. You must be at least sixteen (16) years old to create a consumer account. See Eligibility.
Intellectual property
The Services — including the names “Sekkara” and “سكرة”, the logo, designs, text, and software — are owned by Sekkara or licensed to it. The apps are licensed, not sold. See our EULA for the full licence terms, which govern if the two conflict.
- Consumers: we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the consumer app on your own device for personal, non-commercial use.
- Merchants: we grant a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Sekkara POS app on devices the Merchant controls, for itself and its Authorized Users, for the app’s intended purpose.
- You may not reverse-engineer the apps, copy them, sublicense them, or use them to build a competing service. A Merchant may display marks we provide only to show it participates in the platform, and grants us a licence to display its name, logo, and offer content while it participates.
Disclaimers (no warranty)
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not guarantee any particular volume of users or sales for a Merchant.
We are not responsible for unauthorized use of an account caused by sharing an OTP or login details; for the quality of a Merchant’s goods or services; for a Merchant refusing an offer or leaving the platform; or for disputes between a Consumer and a Merchant over a cash payment.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sekkara and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or Points or Vouchers, arising out of or relating to your use of the Services.
For Merchants: our total liability to a Merchant is limited to the subscription fees that Merchant paid for the then-current period at the time the loss occurred.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sekkara and its officers, employees, and partners from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time (see Delete your account & data). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if we suspect fraud or abuse, or as required by law. On termination, unused Points and Coupons may be forfeited as described in these Terms and on the deletion page.
Changes to terms
We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we increase the version number and update the “Last updated” date. For a material change — one that reduces your rights or significantly changes how the Services work, such as a change to fees, Points expiry, or liability — we give at least 30 days’ notice in-app, or at your registered phone number or email, before it takes effect. Non-material changes may take effect when posted. Continuing to use the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a material change, you may stop using the Services before it takes effect.
Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws in force in the Syrian Arab Republic, except where the applicable app-store terms require otherwise. The parties will first try to resolve a dispute amicably. If that is not possible within thirty (30) days, the dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Syrian Arab Republic. These Terms do not provide for arbitration.
If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These Terms are available in Arabic and English. Where the two versions conflict, the Arabic version prevails.
