You can delete your Sekkara account and associated personal data at any time. This page explains how to do it, what gets deleted, and what we are legally required to keep. For full details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
Method 1 — In the app (recommended)
The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the Sekkara app. This is the primary, app-store-required path for account deletion:
- Open the Sekkara app on your device.
- Go to Settings (or Account).
- Select Delete account.
- Review the information shown about what will be deleted and retained, then confirm.
Once confirmed, your account is closed and your personal data is deleted as described below.
Method 2 — By email
If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion by email:
- Email privacy@sekkara.io from the contact details associated with your account, with the subject “Delete my account”.
- We will verify your identity (for example, by confirming the phone number registered to your account) before processing the request, to protect your account from unauthorised deletion.
- Once your identity is verified, we will complete the deletion within [PLACEHOLDER: e.g. 30 days] and confirm by email.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove your personal data, including:
- Your profile information;
- Your contact details (such as your phone number);
- Your marketing and notification preferences;
- Your push notification tokens.
What is retained & why
Because Sekkara is an e-money-backed financial product, we are required to keep certain records even after your account is deleted:
- Financial and ledger transaction records (points issuance and redemption, and settlement data) are retained in anonymised or aggregated form, so they can no longer be linked to you, for legal, tax, accounting, audit, and fraud-prevention purposes. These records are kept for [PLACEHOLDER: statutory period] as required by applicable law.
- Active point balances and unredeemed vouchers are forfeited on deletion. Because points are not legal tender, are non-transferable, and are not redeemable for cash, any remaining points and unredeemed vouchers are cancelled when you delete your account and cannot be recovered.
We recommend redeeming any points or vouchers you wish to use before deleting your account.
